Earlier this month we hosted a series of 3 Discovery Days, designed to introduce attendees to the various applications possible with a Roland printer. In some cases we presented some completely unique applications that even we hadn't thought possible until a customer had come to us with a requirement.
I’m always surprised at the innovation and potential with Roland. When we first started organising the Discovery Days I made it my own personal mission to find the most intriguing print out there. The best responses came from some testing Roland did on the LEF-12. When they first got their hands on the VersaUV LEF-12, Roland really pushed the boundaries to see what was possible and ended up printing on everything! From a banana to water... yes, actual water! The only downside for both of those examples being that given that the inks used in printing are UV based they would not suitable or advisable for consumption. I think it merely quenched Roland’s curiosity to know the capabilities of the printer in the most extreme circumstances.
The 3 Discovery Days took place in nationwide Roland Creative Centres; Walsall, Clevedon and Aldershot, hopefully giving most people the opportunity to visit if they’d liked.
It was great to meet visitors and get to talk to them alongside Roland advisors. Obviously a lot of knowledge, expertise and experience to be shared by all parties involved!
The event was a real success for us and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those who attended or registered interest. The feedback was fantastic and it was lovely to meet so many of you.
If you were unable to attend and would be interested in talking to us about what you could do with a Roland, we’d love to hear from you!
