HP Machines

Now that Christmas is almost here, you'll hopefully be looking to start winding up for the year. Whether you're only closing for that one day or you're making the most of it and taking a good week off we want you to be safe in the knowledge that your HP printer will be fine again on your return and you can get printing straight away.

The following advice have been recommended by HP directly, should you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to get in touch in advance of the festive break.

HP Latex LX6*0/LX8x0/L2x0/L3*0/L5*0 Series Printers

The joy of having a HP printer is that you do not require any particular switch off process for the Christmas break. You can simply shut down as you would normally at the end of the day, there is no need to keep the machine plugged in, on powering up again after shutdown it may need a few print head cleans in order to get the nozzles all firing again.

HP Latex L3000 Series Printers

These can be shut down and ideally all print heads should be taken out of the printer and left upside down capped with the orange caps, to avoid the wax in the ink settling on the nozzle plate causing blockages. If this not possible, then it is recommended that a daily or at least every  two days, the “Check&Clean” process needs to be done to agitate the ink inside the print heads.

HP Latex R Series Printers

It is recommended that if the White Option is fitted on the printer, the White Print Heads are removed and put into the White print head maintenance wheel, fitting the dummy heads into the carriage. The printer will then need to be put into Low Power Mode. This is best practice when white ink is installed and not being used.

Most importantly enjoy your Christmas holiday!
