printMAX is fast becoming the print industry's home of marathon runners, with over 20% of the team having already completed their marathon missions. Inspired to continue this trend, printMAX's own Marketing Manager, Vicky Jarman has signed up to complete the 26.2 mile course of the London Marathon this April.
Having started running just 12 months ago, Vicky has been a part of the nationwide "This Girl Can" campaign, designed to inspire women of all backgrounds and abilities to take up exercise : http://www.thisgirlcan.co.uk/stories/rookie-runners/
Vicky has so far covered up to a half marathon for her training activity and aims to get up to 20 miles by the time April 24th comes around.
"My family have always been passionate runners so I thought it was time to join in and add another name to the printMAX marathon team.
I'm proud to be raising money for a charity that, whilst benefits those that are the other side of the world, is actually very close to home. My Grandma and Step-Mother have set up a wonderful charity that offers Maasai children in rural Tanzania the choice to access a decent education, something which every person should be entitled to. This is a great cause that is literally changing the lives of a generation and township but as a small, home-start charity, depends on the generous donation of supporters. I aim to raise £1,500 by running the marathon, a feat I would have thought impossible last year.
Unfortunately the timing of the marathon couldn't be worse. Those of you in the industry will be aware that the annual Sign & Digital UK exhibition this year falls on 19th-21st April, the week before the marathon, so if you're heading up, please wish me luck for the weekend, I'll definitely be needing it. We'll be on the front row on stand K10 with the best kit available from Roland and Mimaki."
We will of course be cheering Vicky on all the way, if you would like to show your support, her donation page can be found at https://www.justgiving.com/Victoria-Jarman
